Penn State Inks Seven Recruits During Early Signing Period

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. Head coach Missy Doherty and the Penn State women's lacrosse team has announced the addition of seven new faces to the class of 2022 during November's early signing period. After reaching back-to-back Final Fours in 2016 and 2017, the Nittany Lions will welcome Lauren Craft, Sloane Dowgiallo, Marina Miller, Mary Muldoon, Taylor Suplee, Erin Triandafils, and Sydney Wolfington to campus next fall to don the Blue and White.

Lauren Craft / M / 5-4 / Brewster, N.Y. / Brewster High School / Primetime Lacrosse
A three-year All-Section and All-League member at Brewster High School, Craft was named an All-American following a 101 point campaign as a junior in 2017. In three seasons, Craft has led her team in scoring and has a total of 179 goals and 82 assists for 261 points to go along with 227 draw controls from the midfield. Craft is also a three-year member of the US Lacrosse National Tournament team.

CRAFT ON PENN STATE: "I choose Penn State because the academics and athletics are second to none. There are amazing opportunities at Penn State, which will help me develop into the person I want to be. The campus atmosphere is indescribable and it's the perfect fit for me. I know I won't just be joining a team, but a family."

DOHERTY ON CRAFT: "Lauren has unbelievable stick skills and really scores some fantastic goals. She has a lot of raw talent, and we are excited to see where she can make an impact when she arrives in Happy Valley."

Sloane Dowgiallo / M/D / 5-6 / Lothian, Md. / Southern High School / Maryland United
Dowgiallo helped lead Southern High School to its first-ever AA County Championship game appearance as a junior in 2017 and was named a First-Team All-County Coaches Choice and a First-Team All-County Capital Gazette team member. Dowgiallo scored 56 goals in 2017 helping her team to a 14-4 record. She has also been a member of Maryland United Lacrosse for the past seven years.

DOWGIALLO ON PENN STATE: "I decided to choose Penn State because the coaches and team made me feel like I was part of a family. I also loved the history of the school and the atmosphere around the campus made me feel like I was home."

DOHERTY ON DOWGIALLO: "Sloane is a gritty midfield/defender who is always there to make a hustle play. She works hard the entire game, and we are pumped she is bringing her work ethic to Happy Valley."

Marina Miller / M / 5-6 / Wexford, Pa. / Pine-Richland High School / Pittsburgh Premier
Miller led Pine-Richland High School to the WPIAL Championship during her junior season and is already the programs all-time leading scorer with 235 goals. The two-year captain is a two-time All-American and a three-time All-Section and All-WPIAL member. Miller ranks No. 39 on Inside Lacrosse for the class of 2018. She is also a three-time member of the US Lacrosse High School National Tournament team for Western Pennsylvania.

MILLER ON PENN STATE: "Penn State is a great school and I fell in love with the campus, community and especially the lacrosse program. It is the perfect fit for me athletically, academically and socially."

DOHERTY ON MILLER: "Marina is a fantastic midfield/attacker who just keeps getting better. She has a great stick, and a really good eye for the cage. With her speed and skill she could make an impact quickly."

Mary Muldoon / M / 5-9 / Silver Spring, Md. / The Academy of the Holy Cross /
Muldoon will join her sister Delaney in the Blue and White next fall after completing her time at the Academy of the Holy Cross where she has been a three-time All-Conference selection and served as a captain as a junior and will once again this upcoming season.

MULDOON ON PENN STATE: "I chose Penn State because of the myriad of academic opportunities as well as its unique student body that shows a strong sense of community and love for the school."

DOHERTY ON MULDOON: "Mary is one of the smartest midfielders, and makes the biggest plays look easy. She is a versatile midfielder with great stick work and scoring ability."
